In this video we talk about all Valyrian houses in Westeros history.

House Targaryen, House Qoherys, House Velaryon, House Celtigar, House Baratheon, and House Blackfyre are all Valyrian houses.

The members of House Targaryen, are the sole surviving family of dragonlords, but they are not the last Valyrians.

Some of their vassals, such as House Velaryon and House Celtigar, who are also Valyrians, came from Old Valyria and settled on neighboring islands. A few more noble Valyrian houses were later founded in Westeros by their Valyrian servants such as House Qoherys, as well as by the illegitimate Targaryen children who founded House Baratheon and House Blackfyre.

House of the Dragon, a Game of Thrones prequel series, introduced us to, besides House Targaryen and its many members, also to House Celtigar and House Velaryon, whose members, Bartimos Celtigar and Corlys “the Sea Snake” Velaryon, support Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

According to Velaryon family histories, the Velaryons have a storied Valyrian lineage and came to Westeros before House Targaryen, settling on the island of Driftmark.

House Celtigar is also an ancient Valyrian bloodline, which members came from Valyria and settled in Westeros.

House of the Dragon also introduced us again with House Baratheon, a great house of Westeros which is Valyrian as it was founded by a Valyrian, Lord Orys Baratheon, half-brother to Aegon the Conqueror.

In House of the Dragon season 2 we will obviously see more of the greatest Valyrian house in Westeros, House Targaryen, and their dragons, but we will also see more of these three Valyrian houses (Celtigars, Velaryons, and Baratheons) as the Targaryens and their dragons fight each other.

There are two more Valyrian houses but they are not around during the events of House of the Dragon or Game of Thrones as they became extinct; both, House Blackfyre and House Qoherys were Valyrian.

During Aegon’s Conquest, a noble Valyrian House Qoherys of Harrenhal was founded. Their seat was Harrenhal, which was granted to the Targaryen general, Quenton Qoherys, by Aegon the Conqueror.

Ser Quenton Qoherys was the master-at-arms at Dragonstone so he likely trained Aegon Targaryen. Not a long time after, House Qoherys became extinct.

And finally, House Blackfyre, is the last of Valyrian houses of Westeros list. House Blackfyre was created by Daemon Blackfyre, the legitimized son of King Aegon IV Targaryen. House Blackfyre took its name from Aegon the Conqueror’s Valyrian steel sword Blackfyre, and created five Blackfyre Rebellions against Targaryens but ultimately went extinct.
There you have it guys, every Valyrian house in Westeros.
