NASA Issues Warning Ahead of Total Solar Eclipse as New Calculations Raise Concerns. The Total Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024 will darken U.S. skies, but as per the latest calculations it appears that the path of totality might be slightly off. Scientists are also taking advantage of this rare occurrence to do some experiments to study how the sun affects the Earth and how our Earth responds to it.

Two experiments will happen in the sky on WB-57 aircraft chasing the sun 50,000 feet above Earth.

One will capture images to discover more details of the sun's corona, a dust ring around it, and search for asteroids orbiting nearby, and as for the second aircraft, we will be looking at solar explosions as they come off the sun. This will help us find what they're made of. We will also be testing the effect of the sun on our communications.

For this, we will be launching three rockets before, during and after the eclipse, deploying scientific instruments going up into that layer of the atmosphere again, where our communication signals are key, and studying the changes in density and temperature will help us understand a lot of things.

And do you know how we will be able to do all this during the short window? Well, another great that sets this Eclipse apart is that it’s bigger than the 2017 Great American Eclipse, because this time the totality will last twice as long.

But what if I told you that that’s not all. This solar eclipse also guarantees a lot of other things that you have to experience because it guarantees a spectacular light show.
