This piece was composed in 1909. This piece, along with the Piano Concerto No. 2, is very popular. It is perhaps the most difficult of all piano pieces to perform, as it requires deep musicianship and high performance technique. In the first movement, Rachmaninoff himself composed two types of cadenzas (regular cadenza and ossia cadenza). I performed the ossia cadenza. I am happy to play this piece on shigeru kawai piano!😊✨
01:10 - Raging strikes of chords
01:25 - The main theme plays grandly
01:50 - things get a little sad
02:12 - rit
02:21 - climax
