In the grave of early Jamestown colonist, Captain Gabriel Archer, a small sealed silver box was found. Due to corrosion it was determined that the box could not be opened, and the team turned to non-destructive CT scans to see inside. After visiting Micro Photonics Inc., the Jamestown Rediscovery crew learned that two lead objects as well as multiple bone fragments were present in the box. The box was determined to be a reliquary. In this short film the silver box visits the General Electric Inspection Technologies facility in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. The GE team was able to acquire even more powerful scans of the interior of the box with more detailed imagery of the bone as well as conclusive proof that the lead object was hollow. The verification of a hollow cavity within the lead piece, confirmed the suspicions of the archaeologists that it was indeed an pilgrims ampulla, that would have contained holy water, oil, and or blood.
