For over 30 years, tech transfer projects have been a way of life for the DyHold management team. Acquired from the Department of Energy and new for 2011, we are proud to introduce the Dynamic Global RDSS or Rapid Deployment Shelter System. Designed and manufactured as a compact, highly portable system that can be fully deployed by ONE person in less than two minutes. The RDSS is an advanced concept rigid-wall shelter technology that requires less time and manpower to deploy than any other rigid-wall shelter on the market.

With the touch of a button, the RDSS unfolds from a 20 foot, International Standards Organization, or ISO, shipping container into a four hundred square foot shelter. RDSS is equipped with an on-board generator, and heating and air conditioning systems that can provide up to 72 hours of continuous operation, without refueling, within minutes of delivery. In addition, seamless transition from on-board generator to off board power and support requires only the flip of a switch once local power is restored.

Domestically and globally, currently fielded shelter systems present a financial and logistics nightmare. Most rigid-walled shelters are labor and time intensive, requiring three to ten people and nearly 40 minutes to set up. Experience has shown that travel trailers and mobile homes are cumbersome and simply not designed for transport into disaster areas. Unlike travel trailers, the Dynamic Global RDSS has been engineered specifically for critical area operations and environments. The system is designed for quick and simple deployment and ready to occupy and use within minutes. When the mission is complete, RDSS quickly returns to its ISO container configuration, ready for transport back to its depot. Designed with refurbishment in mind, RDSS is easily and quickly cleaned, sanitized and re-equipped for the next assignment.

In its closed, shipping configuration, the Dynamic Global RDSS provides over 400 cubic feet of mission payload storage space. All equipment and supplies needed for a planned deployment are securely stored inside the container, ready for operation. With input from emergency management and first responders, the RDSS was designed to be reconfigured for a variety of applications including first responder or family shelters, barracks, command/control/ communications centers and medical triage facilities, to name a few. In short, the Dynamic Global RDSS will fit any application requiring a mobile, configurable, rapidly deployable, rigid-wall shelter. Capitalizing on the rugged ISO 1C container design, RDSS units may be stacked nine high, transported by ship, truck or rail, or deployed to remote locations by plane or helicopter. Single units can be transported and directly deployed from conventional type trailers, towed behind medium duty pickup trucks.
Designed to military and FEMA shelter specifications, the RDSS has been specifically developed to meet the needs of disaster response teams, with explicit consideration given to ease of use, ease of storage, and reuse. It is designed to provide years of service at a significantly lower total cost of ownership when compared to alternative options.
The Dynamic Global RDSS is the logical, best value choice to meet all manner of shelter needs.
