Some of Mark Knopfler's guitars (Frontman of Dire Straits) recently auctioned at Christies--one of which was made by Stefan Sobell who makes guitars near Hexham Northumberland--Stefan and his wife Liz were fantastic folk singers back in the day and used to look after the Blackgate Museum in Newcastle. That guitar reached £40,000 + at auction.
