July 18 2023, 9:07 am - feisty younger eaglet Tyr at our Surrey Reserve bald eagle cam nest injured his leg in early June and fell a bit behind in development, but that doesn't stop him from competing with older, larger sibling Lof. This morning Lof dropped a rather large bone she was trying to swallow, Tyr grabbed it, Lof tried to pull it away from the smaller chick - and knocked the smaller eaglet down. Tyr lay on the nest for a couple of minutes before scrambling back up, and then walked over to another piece of food on the nest and began to self-feed. The video shows the activity from both the South/side view and North/overhead cams; I've taken out some sections when Tyr was still to keep the length manageable.
