Every May each year, Flores de Mayo translating to “Flower of May” is tradition celebrated in most provinces in the Philippines. It was a tradition introduced by the Spaniards in the mid 1800s and still being celebrated up to modern days. This yearly tradition is held to commemorate the finding of the holy cross by Queen Helena and her son Constantine the Great. Nowadays, young girls and boys and even adults will wear their best fit every May and will parade from the church to the streets as a celebration of this religous festivity.
