comes around again
and finds he's lost
another friend—

just like a sigh
(it passes all the same)

he wonders when
the rot will take
though he doesn't think
there's much at stake

just like a lie
(it passes all the same)

When will you
reach out your hand?
When will you
know more than skin?
Why not kill
your appetite?
Why not change
what's in your sight?

But there he goes,
he doesn't know
that dreams consume
what strays is doomed.

And when I try to reach him
he is distant
like he's misted
in thoughts that he
will never share,
words that I can't bare
to touch
(would be a joy)
to touch
would be a joy

but just like a sigh
(it passes all the same)
and just like a lie
he passes all the same from us
