Welcome to our special feature on the Charter Oak High School Choir's transformative journey to Salzburg and Vienna. This Thanksgiving, from November 20th to the 26th, our talented students embarked on a musical voyage that showcased their incredible talents, fostered their personal growth, and deepened their understanding of global culture and history.

Our adventure began in the historic city of Salzburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The choir was honored to perform at the majestic Salzburg Cathedral, where Mozart was baptized. The experience was as moving as it was memorable. During our stay, we explored the city’s rich heritage and picturesque streets.

Next, we traveled to Vienna, Austria's capital of music and art. Here, the students performed at a bilingual middle school, connecting with peers through the universal language of music. The highlight in Vienna included performances at the revered St. Peter's Cathedral and the vibrant Schönbrunn Palace outdoor Christmas Market, where the season’s spirit was indeed alive.

Our choir was also privileged to be recognized at a reception in Vienna's City Hall. The warm reception and the invitation to participate in future editions of the Vienna Advent Festival affirmed their stellar performances and professionalism.

We concluded our tour with a final performance at the Melk Abbey, where the choir filled the high Baroque cathedral with melodies that resonated with the audience and the venue’s rich history.
