"Dark Beginnings" is a short fan-made film based on the Star Wars universe. It was filmed in one day in Rexburg, Idaho in Spring of 2002. All the special effects and post production were completed within three weeks of the principle shooting.

Editing was done in Adobe Premiere and the special effects, including the lightsabers, were mostly done in Adobe After Effects. 3D modeling and animation was done in 3D Studio Max.
