Zemo has to be one of the best villains in the MCU, and thankfully isn't one of the ones that's died off before they can really blossom. Whether as a main antagonist or a begrudging anti-hero, his humanist and methodical nature makes him a super interesting character to keep around, acclaimable for any situation he finds himself in. His motif is a simple seven note pattern, played mostly on soft woodwinds and the occasional strings. There's an instrument I'm forgetting the name of that's used for Zemo to portray his cultural background and cunning nature, it plays in tracks like Attack, Soldier! and Bad Science, but the name of it escapes me. The theme never gets bombastic or wild, but it rises and peaks in it's scheming, Machiavellian way. The siren-y strings, rising brass and string ensembles, and tense electronic ambience adds so much in portraying Zemo as threatening yet intelligent, and I feel the more subdued performance of his theme is so crucial to it's impact. Genuinely, I believe Zemo's theme is one of the best villain themes in the MCU, and is a solid example of subtlety being used to it's most effective.
