After a fierce takeover war that took place a decade ago, Chew Gek Khim, Executive Chairman of The Straits Trading, secured control of this century-old listed company. The Straits Trading is one of the companies her grandfather Tan Sri Tan Chin Tuan built up when he was the Chairman of the OCBC group. Chew was very close to her grandfather, and in fact the latter had a great influence on her career and values system.
