Ayaka debuted with the single “I believe” in 2006. Her first album “First Message” sold more than 1.4 million copies and her greatest hits album “ayaka’s History 2006-2009,” released in 2009, also sold over a million copies. After a 2-year break, she came back with the album “The beginning” in 2012. The single “Nijiiro,”released in 2014, was used as the theme song of NHK morning serial drama “Hanako and Ann” is still being used for TV commercials and has become an enduring hit. She’s still working energetically, even during the restricted conditions of the pandemic, seeking what she can do through music. So, along with Daichi Miura she produced “Negaiboshi” using pictures and stories received from people she connected with on social media.
February 2021 marked the 15th anniversary of her debut and she has released new songs and announced a nationwide tour to celebrate.
