When I heard about Sado: an island filled with gold and treasure, steeped in Japanese history with beautiful beaches I had assumed it would be much sought after for holiday goers everywhere. To my surprise though, when I turned up at the ferry port ready to catch the boat over, it was just me, a few Japanese families and a tour bus from china.

Sado island is definitley underrated! Then again, the fact the island was so off grid, is part of what made it so beautiful. 10/10 would get stranded again.
