Synopsis

Kyon Ki... (Because...), a 2005 Bollywood film, explores the complexities of love, loss, and the power of human connection. The story revolves around Anand (Salman Khan), a man grappling with mental illness after the tragic death of his girlfriend Maya (Rimi Sen). Admitted to Sir Richard's Mental Sanatorium, a facility ruled by the rigid Dr. Jogichand Khurana (Om Puri), Anand's world is one of confusion and despair.

Enter Dr. Tanvi Khurana (Kareena Kapoor), a young psychiatrist with a rebellious streak. Unlike her father's harsh methods, Tanvi believes in compassion and understanding. Drawn to Anand's case, she delves deeper, uncovering the emotional scars that bind him. As Tanvi helps Anand navigate his trauma, an unexpected bond blossoms between them. However, their path to healing is fraught with challenges. Dr. Khurana disapproves of their connection, and Anand's fractured mental state presents a constant hurdle.
