Enjoy a peaceful walk in Haarlemmermeer on a sunny summer day.
The Haarlemmermeerse Bos is a 115 hectares park area northwest of Hoofddorp (south-west of Amsterdam).
The forest was planted in the 1970s, after which it was officially opened to the public in 1979 and has developed into a regional attraction.
Regular events are held in the forest, such as the annual Mysteryland.
The Floriade took place in a part of the forest in 2002.
The Floriade is an international exhibition and garden festival, held every 10 years in the Netherlands.
Some remnants of the Floriade 2002 are still present in the forest, such as the Haarlemmermeer pavilion, expo building, the Big Spotters Hill and the perennial flower beds.
