Ep.80 [K-NOW] BIG OCEAN - K-POP’S FIRST-EVER HEARING IMPAIRED GROUP

It’s a first in the world and in the K-pop industry - an idol group that sings in sign language! And prior to their debut, this group did a dance challenge with the popular boy group RIIZE!
It’s Big Ocean, a group that will make its official debut on April 20, which is Disabled Persons’ Day in Korea.
Lee Chan-yeon, Park Hyun-jin and Kim Ji-seok, the 3 members of Big Ocean have hearing impairments. They overcame various obstacles and practiced hard for the past year and a half and will make their grand debut very soon.
Big Ocean’s debut song is “Glow” and it’s a remake of first generation idol group H.O.T’s song of the same title. The members will sing in Korean, American and international sign languages. Ep.80 [K-NOW] K-POP 최초, 청각장애 아이돌 ‘빅오션(Big O!cean)’

세계 최초! K-POP 역사상 최초! 수어로 노래하는 아이돌 그룹이 있다? 데뷔 전부터 그룹 라이즈와 챌린지를 한 팀이 있다? 오는 4월 20일, 한국 장애인의 날에 정식 데뷔하게 될 ‘빅오션’의 이야기다.
빅오션 멤버 전원 3명(이찬연, 박현진, 김지석)은 모두 청각장애인으로 지난 1년 반 동안 수많은 시행착오와 연습을 거친 끝에 데뷔를 코앞에 두고 있다. 빅오션이 데뷔곡으로 선택한 ‘빛(Glow)’은 1세대 아이돌 H.O.T의 대표곡인 ‘빛’을 리메이크한 것으로 이들은 한국어 수어, 미국 수어, 국제수화를 활용한 무대를 선보일 예정이다.
장애에 대한 편견을 지우고 모든 이들을 꿈꾸게 할 빅오션의 반짝이는 이야기를 만나보자
