Wrestling Bios Presents – Reliving The War: Episode 5

World Championship Wrestling created their show “WCW Monday Nitro” to compete with the WWF’s “Monday Night Raw”. In a time period now known as “The Monday Night Wars”, both companies put on some of their absolute best television shows in order to remain competitive. WCW Nitro debuted in 1995, showcasing stars such as Sting, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Lex Luger while the WWF was presenting guys like Bret Hart, Diesel, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. As the years went on, both WWF Raw and WCW Nitro would evolve with new concepts, new formats, new wrestlers and new storylines that captivated wrestling fans during the mid 90s. This series, Reliving The War, looks back at every Raw vs Nitro head to head show in order to determine which show was better, regardless of TV ratings.

This episode features WWF Raw and WCW Nitro from the 9th October 1995. WCW would present a steel cage match featuring Ric Flair and Arn Anderson while the WWF would showcase a huge 6 man tag match featuring the likes of Yokozuna, Diesel and The Undertaker. What’s curious here though is that Raw only put on 2 matches while WCW broadcasted 4 matches.
