Both M15 and the Female flew into the nest area together and perched in the nest shortly after sunrise this morning. It was great to see both of them. They vocalized their arrival and did some nest rebuilding. M15 and Female are exhibiting courtship behaviors. These behaviors include perching together, flying together, vocalizing together, building/rebuilding a nest together and mating (we have not seen them mate yet). These behaviors are seen in both bonded mates and new mates. Eagle pairs are not truly bonded mates until they have their first successful clutch together. So this is yet to be seen with M15 and this Female. M15 added 3 sticks this morning and Female attempted to but did not accomplish adding sticks. She spent quite a bit of time trying to break off a pine bough that wasn't cooperating. She will improve with time. Both worked in the nest rearranging sticks and nest material and also perched in the nest tree branches watching the territory. The Female flew East & then Northeast around 9:30am. M15 remained perched in the nest tree, perhaps waiting to oversee as "cam inspector" when work on camera installation resumed later.
