All you need to know for this easy and cheap upgrade. Definitely, not as good as fitting a complete new timing chain kit. But that is very complex (professional) and expensive (£thousands). In most cases the final bill will be probably more than the car is worth. In comparison this tensioner change is a budget, DIY mechanic job which takes a couple of hours maximum. Possibly the first thing to try if you have a chain rattle at startup. Worth a try? Please leave your questions in the comments.
