The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is arguably (yes, I'm biased) one of the best aircraft to be born out of the Cold War era. Being exported to almost every continent around the world, the Phantom saw a lot of action after its birth in the early 1960s. While there wasn't a lot of action in the European Theater (luckily), the Phantom was operated by the British until the early 90s, Spain in 2002, and Germany holding onto their fleet until 2011 thanks to the F-4F ICE (Improved Combat Efficiency) upgrade. To this day, only the air forces of South Korea, Iran, Turkey, and Greece have the Phantom, but that is changing very rapidly as the ROKAF will be retiring theirs before the end of June.
