Several political heavyweights were in poll fray in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls 2024 on Friday. The polling began at 8 AM where around 16.35 crore people are expected to exercise their franchise. Elections in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Andaman and Nicobar islands, Lakshadweep and Puducherry will conclude in a single phase. First phase of voting begins today on 102 constituencies across 21 states and UTs and 92 Assembly Constituencies in the state assembly elections in Arunachal and Sikkim.Nitin Gadkari, Annamalai, Kanimozhi and Chirag Paswan’s fate will be sealed in the EVMs today.
