Echolalia is the term we use to describe when children repeat what we say instead of coming up with their own utterances. This is a normal stage of language development for one- and two-year-olds. But sometimes our children with language delays continue to rely heavily on echolalia as they get older. We can help these children by boosting up their language skills.
