"The Sound of Silence" was originally recorded and released by Simon and Garfunkel in 1964. It was promptly ignored by mainstream radio until it became an unlikely hit in Florida of all places. The tune has been covered by all manner of artists but probably most notably by Disturbed, and now um... by me (wink wink, nudge nudge). Hugs, Y'all!
