Big is 102 days old; Lil is 101 days old!
All is good in the wood! All in the family home this morning.
5 AM I don’t see anyone with my infrared video going yet but I hear Big.
I found both parents perched side by side on the AET.
5:16 AM Big squees about every minute.
5:20 AM Both parents vocalize.
I don't see Lil yet.
Big's vocals are beginning to slightly change.
5:40 AM Majestic vocalizes he is now on the family tree (aka Hannah's tree).
5:41 AM Big departs flying towards the lake.
I just found Lil on the slider branch left of the nest.
5:43 AM Lil moves to the nest and then to the attic.
Hannah is still roosted in the AET, Majestic is still on the family tree.
When Big is not around it is always very quiet.
5:47 Big just returned landing low on the ONT.
5:49 AM Hannah departs flying to the lake.
Lil was just flapping hard in the attic with much more subtle sounding squees than you know who.
5:52 AM Three minutes later, Hannah returns coming from the lake flying low over the Gully landing on the lower branch on the family tree. She has a fish.
5:54 AM Big departs and circles around the backside of the nest over the Gully and lands above mom.
6:03 AM Big is hollering up a storm. She moves to a couple different branches above mom. She seems to be having a bit of a struggle getting to mom. Mom is nibbling on the fish. Mom rips a piece off looking at Big luring her. Lil is still in the attic.
Big is constantly squeeing. It is suddenly quiet and I hear raspy squees coming from Lil.
6:08 AM Big departs flying in front of the nest circling around several time landing on a lower ONT branch.
6:12 AM Big departs again circling around landing above Hannah. More squees coming from Lil.
6:14 AM Mom takes the fish to the nest. Guess who gets it? Lil grabs and mantles the fish. Big departs yet again circles around landing next to dad. Majestic calls out. Non stop hollering by Big.
6:16 AM Big takes off again circles twice around the nest landing on the ONT.
6:18 AM Big departs once again circling around the nest tree landing on the babysitting branch.
Mom is now back on the family tree with dad.
6:21 AM Big departs circles around and lands on the babysitting branch once again.
6:23 AM Big departs flies around and around and around again landing next mom. Dad, Big and Mom all perched on the family tree. Big continues to squee. Mom and dad chime in with vocals. All three are vocalizing. What a sight.
6:28 AM Big finally makes a rough landing on the edge of the nest through the back porch. Big begins eating. What a wild ride that was. That was so exciting to watch.
6:38 AM I just noticed Lil is in the attic and Big is still eating.
6:50 AM First dad then mom flies to the Lakeside branch with celebratory vocals. Proud parents watching their offspring learn survival skills.
7:30 AM leave with Majestic and Hannah perched side-by-side on the Lakeside branch. Lil in the attic and Big on the back porch.
All is good in the wood!
