Kendrick Lamar was thought to have dropped a surprise new album, but after a brief fan frenzy, it turned out to be a fake.

On Sunday (April 28), an album under the title pgLang— the name of the record company co-founded by Kendrick — appeared on the streaming platform [untitled], which markets itself to artists as a “a sacred place for your work-in-progress music.”
