Inhumans was originally supposed to be a film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it underwent an extremely troubled production, and it was eventually decided that the team of heroes would be brought to TV instead. In a perfect storm of difficult events, the showrunner was given an extremely short timespan to create the miniseries, stories of the production issues leaked, and the initial fan reactions were not positive.
