An investigation by GMB has found that the technology that runs most of England's so-called smart motorways experienced 22 system outages last year.

Ana Borges suffered life-changing injuries after she was in a car crash on a smart motorway. She joins GMB to discuss the crash and says that if she had been on a motorway with a hard shoulder, she wouldn't have been in a car crash.

Campaigner Claire Mercer, who's husband died on a smart motorway tells Susanna and Richard that it would be 'quick and simple' to turn the first lane off on a smart motorway so that it can be a hard shoulder.
