Watch the heron parent in Tree B Nest 5 rearrange the eggs by rotating them and moving them aroudn with their bill then resuming incubation to regulate the temparature of the eggs.
Herons periodically rotate their eggs to help them heat evenly (when they incubate).

The Vancouver Park Board, along with the Stanley Park Ecology Society, help sustain the heron population through monitoring, stewardship, and education. Watch these Stanley Park herons live at vancouver.ca/HeronCam.
