We had already recorded a different version of this song on YouTube, but for our album I wanted the song to sound sparse and reflective. I described what I wanted and in less than 24 hours, Emmett came up with this twisted version thus earning it the title "Wayfaring Stranger Gets Stranger" from mom on our chord charts. We ran through it during our last rehearsal before we drove to the studio in Nashville. When it was finally time to record "Wayfaring Stranger," I was skeptical since we had only three studio hours left and two more songs to record, but Troy, Dewey, and the band all worked together and completed this version of the song and I love it.
