The Bemersyde and Malloch trophies, for the largest salmon caught on the River Tweed and the biggest salmon caught and safely returned to the water in the whole of Scotland, have been won by the same man, Andy Britton.

He safely landed a 31lb fish – good news for salmon stocks as this weight is comparable with previous years. There have been concerns about salmon and river health, the impact of the pandemic and a dry summer on the fishing industry.
