Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue has branded Meghan Markle an influencer “wannabe” after sending her strawberry jam to the “who’s who” of Hollywood.

Meghan Markle launched the first product from her new business venture American Riviera Orchard in April.

The list of celebrities who were sent the jam include Kris Jenner, Mindy Kaling and Tracee Ellis Ross.

“She is trying to subtly create some buzz, these people putting on their social media saying, ‘thank you so much for our jam, Meghan. We've never had jam before’,” Ms Krakue told Sky News Australia.

“There has obviously been a bit of a competition, indirectly, with the Royal Family’s jam that they sell and Meghan's jam.”
