For better or worse, the NFL is a real rough and tumble world—where a lot of the players, even some of the best ones to grace your TV screens on Sundays, have rather checkered pasts.

And we are not talking about ‘checkered pasts’ in the sense of a couple trips to lunch detentions and 10 demerits from the headmaster...

Believe it or not, there are a number of NFL players who really ran with the wrong crowds back in the day—and had ties to some of the most dangerous gangs in the country.
