Dedicated this dance to my best friend, Amanjot, who got married this year! This was the day we both talked about since we were like 16. Our friendship was unlike any other relationship. She’s always been a dear friend, a sister, and a mentor. Little did I know, she was all the therapy I needed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While we discussed about relevant topics at the time like homework, crushes, movies, we also talked about the roles of women in our society and the responsibilities that come with it. We talk about the hardships of our parents, analyze what’s written in the Guru Granth Sahib and how we defined beauty vs the rest of the world 😜 You see, Amanjot is someone I could always be vulnerable and truthful to without ever feeling judged.

Today we get to see our lives unfold as we shift our roles from wives to daughter in laws to working professionals. It’s quite beautiful. Didn’t think we would be miles away from one another but the bond is stronger than ever. That’s why this day of hers was so special for me and I’m so every grateful. Love you my jot @amjammin ❤️
