Community members, organizations and city departments were on hand at Lion’s Park today for a Community Shade Tree Planting event May 9th, 2024.

Representatives from the Banning Senior Center, Options for All, the San Gorgonio Pass Rotary, the Boy’s and Girls Club of Banning, City of Banning Parks & Recreation Department, the City of Banning Electric Utility, and representatives from Best Buy, and numerous community volunteers planted trees as a beautification project that will provide shade for families in the future as the trees mature.

Part of this program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.
