Some shake-ups in the Portland Police Department this week, most notably at the top. Police Chief Chuck Lovell announced he’ll be stepping down in a couple weeks. He’s been doing the job since early pandemic, and with Mayor Wheeler not running for re-election, thought it was a good time to move on, which he always meant to do. Good luck to him.

They’ve looked at the trends and done the math, here’s the timeline of the leaves changing in our area. Right now, it’s barely started, but expect it to happen over the next month. The Tualatin Hills do affect it; the West Side changes earlier than the East side, but between October 10th & 23rd is when peak peeping will be happening. Leafpeeping. Terrible name.

And finally, Seattle can suck it, Portland has finally beat them out on the list of top coffee cities. WalletHub did the research; they’re usually pretty good, so we can brag about that for the next year. Don’t brag around anybody from San Francisco though… they came in first. Portland second, and Suckattle, I mean Seattle was third.
