The female was in the nest tree when I arrived this morning and a sub adult (probably turning 4 years of age) was perched in a pine in the west pasture. M15 arrived to the nest with a stick shortly after 7am. The sub adult did not stay long flying across the road out of sight. The addition of sticks by both started shortly after. Both adults flew at and broke sticks from the trees. M15 also grabbed two sticks from the ground. There was a mating attempt in the nest tree attic. We saw 'stick wars' & 'wing wars' as M15 and the female rearranged sticks in the nest. At 8:45am both M and F flew across the road behind the shopping center returning after 9am to the nest tree and watched their territory closely. Teamwork was evident between these two and I hope the best for both of them in the future. Time will tell.
