E23 had his/her first food delivery to the ground this morning. A growing awareness of eating in new surroundings plainly shown on E23's face. E23 followed Mom to the ground and ate some before going to a front pine to perch. When E23 saw Dad arrive to the DSPS (drive side pond snag), he flew under the nest before going back to eat more food on the ground. After a bit, E23 joined Dad & Mom (who had flown to the DSPS) there. F23 dropped back down to eat more food. F23 and M15 saw another eagle flying overhead and got busy trying to chase it away. F23 flew back to the nest tree, M15 chased after the intruder. And what a chase! M15 was dominant in the pursuit and they flew around the pasture before flying in the west skies. M returned safely to the pasture and took part of the food on the ground to the nest. E23 finally made it back to the nest and ate more food. Great lessons for E23 today! E23 is 79 days old today.
