"Where oh where" has E23 been when out of cam view? Well, this morning I found E23 at Yonder Pond, or as I call it Yonder Pond Cove. When I arrived to the nest this morning, no eagles were in sight. E23 was seen on cam yesterday in the Yonder Pond area so I went over there and walked through the brush at the west end of YP (Yonder Pond). This is the only undeveloped area remaining behind the shopping center and although small, is quiet with plenty of pond water and trees. A perfect exploring spot for a young juvenile. And there was E23 walking on the ground, dipping its' tail in the water and finding 'buried' treasure at the edge of the pond. (I have heard this small patch of Yonder Pond is to remain undeveloped and belongs to the Eagle Landing shopping center.) It was delightful to watch E23 here and then see him fly to a nearby pine tree before taking off to explore another area. As I write this description, E23 has come back home to his/her natal nest as of 1:35pm. It is good to see E23 on cam again too. E23 is 107 days old today.
