A very, very historic event happened yesterday evening in Scranton on 5/19/2023. Back in March, preservationist Doyle McCormack sold his NKP 190 to GVT, where it would then make the trip back to home rails in Scranton, PA where it operated over 40 years ago on the Delaware and Hudson. At approximately 5:30pm, the PA rolled up to the DL's Bridge Sixty tower for a quick welcome home party before being handed off to Steamtown for a temporary display. In the coming weeks, the mechanical crews at the Delaware Lackawanna railroad will complete the final steps in getting "America's Diesel" running under her own power and pulling trains once again.
