Dylan Cease made his first return to Chicago after being traded away from the White Sox to the Padres just before the season started and he absolutely mystified the team that originally drafted him. Cease gave up only 1 hit in 7 innings and struck out 12 Cubs. His season ERA is down to 2.19.

Heyden Wesneski pitched fine for the Cubs. He went 6 innings and gave up 3 runs. But the offense did absolutely nothing all day. So Kap couldn't help but going back to that fateful day when the Cubs traded away their two best prospects for Jose Quintana. He didn't like the trade then and he still hates the trade to this day. Cease should have become the cornerstone of the Cubs rotation. But instead he's becoming that for the Padres.
