Susanna de Chenonceau, M.Ed, gives action items for Juniors in March 2021:
-Keep your GPA high!
-Register for Senior classes and increase the rigor a little bit.
-Complete registered, official visits at colleges (even if they are virtual).
-Seek out career interviews with different professions to help you choose your major.
-Prep for and complete standardized testing if you can because we don’t know yet if schools will remain test-optional. If you get a high score it will only help you!
-Think about two core subject teachers from Junior year to ask for recommendation letters. Attend their office hours, ask questions, and get to know them.
-Start your resume for college applications and interviews. Download the CollegeMapper template here: https://collegemapper.com/resume-buil...
-Continue compassionate volunteering (not just volunteering in a sport you play).
-Make summer plans related to your intended major and register soon! You can check our database of summer programs here: https://collegemapper.com/summer-prog...
-Contact coaches if you want to be a recruited athlete.
