Susanna de Chenonceau, M.Ed, gives action items for Sophomores in March 2021:

-Consider doing test prep for the SAT or ACT. If you can take the test and get a great score even with covid, this will only help you. If you are not a good test taker, try your best but many schools may stay test-optional when you apply.
-Register for Junior classes and increase your rigor a little bit or keep it the same, but don’t let it drop. Your Junior year classes are very important, but so is maintaining your GPA!
-Attend office hours and keep your camera on when you can to feel more connected during school and get to know your teachers.
-Verify that your transcript has no errors! Make sure all your classes are there and the grades are correct.
-Make summer plans and aim for something you may want to major in. Look for summer program suggestions here: https://collegemapper.com/summer-prog...
-Start some career interviews by asking people about their jobs, ask to job shadow, etc. This will help you narrow down possible neighbors.
-If you want to be a recruited athlete, this is a good time to start contacting coaches.
-Continue compassionate volunteering.
