Shortly after arriving to our camp, a moose approached our camp. The Misses gets the kids in the car except for me and my oldest son. We keep our distance because we know moose can be temperamental.

Our family Schnauzer, Schatze is 13 years old. Two years ago we thought we needed to put her down but she ended up just having diabetes. We administer insulin to her twice a day. Due to the diabetes she has become blind. Due to her advanced age she is also def.

She does, however, still love to go camping. Each time we go camping, she trots down that road wagging her tail. I am sure she has memories of this place from when she could see and hear.

I didn't know she had been let out of the truck and as soon as I saw her by the moose, I thought this situation could go bad. It was just as I thought this, I saw the moose trot ahead, lift up its front hoof and stomp on dear Schatze. I thought the moose had dealt a mortal blow. I felt sick. It was not smart of me to charge after the moose, but given the circumstances, I was primarily concerned about Schatze.

Fortunately, Schatze is just fine!
