Kayaköy is known as a historical neighborhood in the Fethiye district of Muğla. This settlement, formerly known as Levissi, went down in history as the ancient settlement of the Greeks. As a result of the Turkish-Greek population exchange, abandoned houses, narrow streets and silence caused Kayaköy to be known as a ghost village. You will witness that in historical Greek houses, people of that period collected and used rainwater with the gutter system they lowered from the roof!

The history of Kayaköy is quite rich. Here are some details of this magnificent village:

Karymlassos: It is the name of Kayaköy in the past. B.C. It is known that it has a history dating back to 3000 years. The oldest finds date back to B.C. It belongs to the 4th century.
Greek Houses: The Greek houses you will see in the village resemble small pieces of rock and many stone materials were used during their construction. The roofs, doors and windows of the houses were destroyed in the 1957 Rhodes earthquake.
Church: There is a church at the highest point of the village. In ancient times, Greek people worshiped here and the church was also used as an observation deck.
Views: When you climb to the top of the village, a magnificent view of the Aegean Sea welcomes you.
