Hello everyone! I’m Cincinnati based Illustrator John McCoy. I have taught community education art courses at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and have taught the art of mural making to all grade levels at St Aloysius Gonzaga grade school in Cincinnati and Oldenburg Academy in Indiana.

I am a lifelong learner and have a passion for learning to draw as well as teaching others by proven methods. Following the techniques of the famous American Illustrator Andrew Loomis in his book “Fun with a Pencil” I invite you to join me in a wonderful learning journey which began as a New Year’s resolution to continually draw and learn to draw better.

In part 11 we learn the technique of “Projection”, which will prove a necessary step as we ramp up into realism.
