On November 18th 1999, a man made television history by becoming the first person to win the game show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”. Overnight he became an unlikely pop culture star, someone baffled by his own fifteen minutes of fame. His name was John Carpenter, and this is his story. A story about taking risks. A story about calling shots. A story about Richard Kind. A story about an alien that can change shapes. Wait, that’s the plot of The Thing. Ok, well it does kind of fit. Just…just watch the video.
