Welcome to all those who are new to JohnMcCoyArt. I’m Cincinnati artist and illustrator John McCoy.

In part 6, advancing upon what we have previously learned with what Andrew Loomis calls the “blocky” treatment, we begin to learn how to draw the emotions which will add a lot of character to the faces we draw! In this video we learn how to draw a smiling face :)

I have taught various community Education art classes at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and taught all grade levels in local schools the art of mural painting.

It’s now February of 2024 and following my desire to learn to draw more I am making this series to share with you the learning process. I invite you to learn with me using the art education book “Fun with a Pencil” which uses Andrew Loomis’ methods of drawing.
