For this year's Great Cover Song ChalIenge, I got to collaborate with a very talented singer songwriter by the name of Courtney Montgomery. We had a long conversation on the phone and came up with a basic concept for me to write a poem. I wrote LEAVING THE ALIEN based on the concept we came up with. Courtney interpreted my poem into a song. When it came time to create the video, my original, much darker, ideas were just not going to work with the lovely, wistful, song that Courtney came up. So, I kept it simple. Just filmed, mainly, Christmas lights and collectibles. It only tangentially fits the song but as a Christmas video it kind of works.
